pocket parks

an ongoing fascination with the pop-up wilds of Philadelphia, New Haven, and Providence
2016-
pocket parks started as a summer project in which I wanted to reconcile the site-informed work I was used to making with a new environment that I felt no ownership of, the city of Philadelphia. I turned instead to collecting -- in the most unobtrusive way possible -- the pieces of the city to which I began to relate. Parks is currently open ended as I continue to think about the place of site specific work by mobile artists in the context of the ownership of public space, privilege, and ambiguous urban spaces.
